Automatic Pool Covers for the Algarve

Three above-ground models cover the range of residential pools in the Algarve. The Contura suits larger pools and uses aluminium end-stands with bearing blocks that take the strain off the motor. The Tixit is a slimmer, more contemporary design suited to smaller pools and courtyard settings, with LED lighting along the pool edge. The Rolleasy 2 is the most compact option and a sensible choice where budget is a priority. All three are available in electric or solar versions.

The Moove'O is a freestanding, solar-powered unit on coupled wheels. One person rolls it to the pool edge, operates a key switch to cover or uncover the pool, and wheels it away again when full access to the surround is needed. No guide rails, no fixed installation, no mains electricity. It arrives fully assembled and suits rental properties where the cover should be unobtrusive, or existing pools where a permanent installation is not desirable.

A submerged cover is concealed within the pool structure itself. When retracted, the slats wind onto a roller housed in a chamber built into the pool floor or behind a wall. The pool surround remains completely clear. These systems are specified during construction or as part of a significant refurbishment.

DEL offers two submerged models. The Rollin is the established system, in production for over 40 years, with the roller concealed beneath decking at one end. The Rollinside is the more refined option: the roller sits in a sealed box within the pool floor, and when retracted the deck above it forms a shallow wading area. Both carry a 5-year motor warranty.

Opaque PVC slats block light completely, which inhibits algae growth and keeps the pool cleaner between visits. They carry a 3-year warranty. Polycarbonate solar slats let sunlight through to heat the water beneath, typically gaining several degrees compared to an uncovered pool. They carry a 5-year warranty. UV exposure in the Algarve is among the highest in Europe, so lighter slat colours are worth considering: they reflect more radiation and last longer.

We supply the full DEL range and carry out all installations ourselves across the Algarve. Every cover is manufactured to order in France, with delivery typically within two to four weeks. We carry out a site survey and provide a written specification before any order is placed. Above-ground models and the Moove'O can be fitted in a single day. Submerged systems require more planning and are typically specified alongside a refurbishment or new build.
